He built a small port for Iskenderun when the province of Hatay was under French rule after World War I. In 1939, when the Republic of Hatay was united with the motherland, this port was also connected to the General Directorate of State Ports Management. Operation in front of the railway line The port, which was taken over by the Republic of Turkey State Railways in 1942, retains the additional ownership that was made in various years later. On 20 December 2011, the port operating rights were transferred to Limak Holding for 36 years within the scope of privatization. After the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, a fire broke out in the port due to the takeover of the containers.
